Why not check out the Irish Film Institute’s Family Festival 2021? Winner of Best Animation at last year’s Her International Film Festival, Sorcha McGlinchey’s Roar, will be shown as part of Short Tales 1. Short Tales is a selection of short films. Short Tales 1 aimed at children a young as 4, and Short Tales 2 for 8 and up.

The Family Festival runs this weekend, from August 27th-29th. Films will be screened in the IFI with socially-distanced seating and child-friendly precautions in place.

The festival is aimed at children between the ages of 4-12. There will be a variety of animated and live-action features on offer. This includes Ana Laura Calderón’s Mezquite’s Heart, a film about young girl and her father, who are heartbroken over the loss of her mother.

And just a reminder that our extended deadline – Sunday the 29th of August – is closing in. If you have a film you would like to submit, please do so here. We can’t wait to see them all!
